Bio

Afzal Sayed Munna is a distinguished business development expert and entrepreneur, renowned for his extensive academic and professional accomplishments. Serving as a Business Development Director for the past 12 years, Afzal specialises in business growth, strategic marketing, and leadership and management. He works internationally with media, and technology businesses in the creative, digital, and cultural sectors. Afzal has direct experience in starting up, managing, growing, and leading businesses in the creative industries, including fostering international growth. With over 20 years of experience as an adviser, consultant, coach, mentor, and trainer in the UK and internationally, he brings a wealth of knowledge to his roles.

Currently, Afzal is a Doctoral Researcher (PhD in Education) at the University of Bath and holds a Doctor of Professional Studies (DProf) from the University of Sunderland. He serves as a Digital Learning and Teaching Lead, Lecturer, and Supervisor at the University of Sunderland in London, where he also sits on the Research Ethics Review Committee. His rich experience includes roles as an Academic/Programme Coordinator at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David London Campus and as a Programme & Module External Examiner at various universities, including the University of Hertfordshire, Cardiff Metropolitan University, and London Metropolitan University.

Additionally, Afzal is a Mentor at the University of Westminster and a Qualified Assessor, IQA, Lead IQA, and EQA. An independent education oversight consultant and successful entrepreneur, he holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTLS), Chartered Manager Status (CMgr), and is a Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE). Afzal is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and actively participates in professional organizations such as the Society for Education and Training (SET), the British Educational Research Association (BERA), and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). His contributions to academic governance include serving as an Academic Board Member at the University of Sunderland. Additionally, he lends his expertise as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Education (SAGE Publication) and sits on the editorial boards of several academic journals, ensuring high standards in educational research and practice.
