Maria Skampoura currently serves as the Advisory Board Chair of the Joomla! Project, under the governance of Open Source Matters, Inc., a non-profit organization, headquartered in New York, USA. Maria is an expert in marketing and communications, driving brand growth and spearheading innovative strategies across diverse industries. An entrepreneurial spirit, adept at leading diverse global teams and forging strategic partnerships. An adaptive leader, keen on technology and innovation, with a humanfirst, all-inclusive approach, and a lifelong learning mindset.

Maria holds an MBA with a specialization in Finance from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom, and a Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute in the United Kingdom. Dedicated to the values of CMI, Maria served as Social Media and Communications Lead, at the Chartered Management Institute’s West Midlands & and North-West Boards, in the United Kingdom.

Passionate about entrepreneurship, Maria was a Mentor of the BSEEN programme, offering students and graduate entrepreneurs intensive start-up support for new ventures. BSEEN supports aspiring student and graduate entrepreneurs in the Birmingham area of the United Kingdom.

With an unwavering commitment to innovation and enterprise, Maria is fully immersed in the development of her technology start-up, utilizing her vast experience and innovative mindset to drive its success.
