Do you want to acquire the requisite entrepreneurial skills, get funded and start your own business with a group of likeminded students?

Then apply to the Lion’s Den Business Competition (LDBC) brought to you by the Arden Enterprise Incubator (AEI). LDBC is designed around the needs of the motivated participants who want to either launch their own businesses or grow existing ones.

Students will be selected through a set of criteria describe below and will be placed in a group of 5 by the team.

As part of the programme, students would have to attend a series of carefully planned master classes that will be delivered around lunch time and by a mixture of industry experts and academics with industry backgrounds

In each bootcamp/intake, the groups will compete in a Lion’s Den grand final pitch competition and awarded prizes. Full Terms and Conditions apply which can be found here https://arden.ac.uk/terms-and-conditions

Below, you will find details of the project and how to register:

  1. Application opens on February 26th and closes on March 5th, 2024
  2. How to apply?
    • First, sign up to become a member of the Arden Enterprise Community by visiting aei.arden.ac.uk and take the self-assessment if you haven’t already done so;
    • Second, submit an application form providing the following:

      1. Confirm that you can attend all Master Class sessions
      2. Confirm that you already have a business or have an intention to start a business and provide a description of what the proposed business idea is or what the current business is (the description should be no more than 300 words)
      Note:

      25 students will be selected for each bootcamp. Thus, if you miss one, you can always apply for the others happening in May, September and November 2024.

  3. Prizes

    In the grand finale, two winners will be crowned and given the following prizes:

    Winner 1:

    • £750 will be given to support your group’s business idea
    • 3-month mentorship support via the AEI platform during which you will have the opportunity to work on/validate your ideas
    • Members of the Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs (IOEE)

    Winner 2 (runner up):

    • £250 will be given to support your group’s business idea
    • 3-month mentorship support via the AEI platform during which you will have the opportunity to work on/validate your ideas
    • Members of the Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs (IOEE)

     

    Lastly, on completion of the bootcamp, all participants will receive a certificate of recognition.
